Athlete Guidelines
The following information is to guide you in your actions and decision making as a track and field athlete at Deep Run.
It is essential that you communicate with coaches. Ideally, you will be at practice everyday and we will be able to manage any situations as they arise. If you should need to get in touch, our contact is below.

It is expected that you be available to compete in every meet on our schedule. Social plans, youth clubs, church trips, are not acceptable excuses and you should not commit to these activities unless you know you will not be entered in a meet on that weekend. If you have SATs or a family vacation, please let Coach Stockdreher and your event coach know at least two weeks before. Entries are often done well ahead of each meet.
You will get information and entries about each meet in the form of a travel itinerary. Make sure you get these at practice and that you know when we are leaving, when you compete, and all of the details. This is your responsibility.
If you develop an injury you still need to report to practice. The steps are as follows: 1) Tell your event coach about the injury 2) Event coach will send you to Sakisa Kinchen, the Deep Run Athletic Trainer 3) After the trainer has told you what is wrong and what to do, report back to the event coach 4) The event coach and you will discuss what to do to get you healthy again.
We have athletes of varying abilities, but that does not mean our expectations change. Every athlete on our roster should find a way to have a positive impact on our program. Strive to be a good teammate and a coachable athlete.
